About the Raindance Tour
9-10 June 2014
Vue Edinburgh Omni Centre
61/11 Leith Street
Edinburgh
EH1 3AU
As a 22-year-old film festival committed to independent, new and undiscovered filmmakers, we’re proud to screen alternative content from the usual multiplex fare. Filmmakers who played early films at Raindance include Nicolas Winding Refn, Ben Wheatley and Lynn Shelton. On the tour we’ll be screening:
Whoops:
A dark British comedy about a couple who can’t seem to stop killing.
Powerless:
A documentary from India following a resident of the slums who illegally taps power for his fellow residents from the overhead lines.
The Critic:
An Argentinian ‘meta-rom-com’ about a film critic who hates rom-coms – and finds his life becoming one.
Short Films:
An eclectic selection of short films from around the world, including documentary, animation and music video.
We’ll also be holding our world-renowned ‘99 Minute Film School’ – a whistle-stop tour through the industry that will leave you breathless and inspired.
Furthermore, we’ll be hosting a 48 Hour Filmmaking Challenge, encouraging local professional and aspiring filmmakers to get a short made in just one weekend. The winner will be invited to screen at Raindance this September in London.
